Starting out as a street tumbler, he began training to become a competitive gymnast at 14, finishing at USGF Level 2 rating . Formally trained at Champion’s Academy of Gymnastics, Cranford, New Jersey and Gymiami, Opa Locka, Florida under the coaching of Bruce Davis, coach of Kurt Thomas, Ron Galimore and many other National and Olympic Level gymnasts.
Since 1979 has been blessed to serve as a Gymnastics Instructor and camp clinician in various facilities throughout the East Coast. Starting out as a volunteer for two years at the local YWCA’s, YMCA’s Police Athletic Leagues and recreation centers before ever receiving a single paycheck he worked way up through the ranks from floater/clean up guy to spotter to Bar Coach, to Asst Head Coach, to Head Coach and eventually Artistic Women’s Program Director and running his own facility at the age of 25.
He has served as a Level IIIC/IV/V NAWGJ Judge in the Commonwealth of Virginia and taught several
gymnastic clinics and summer camps throughout Virginia and North Carolina. In 2004 he was formally introduced to the world of All Star competitive cheerleading. It was then he left the world of gymnastics and
started coaching tumbling only and eventually cheerleading. In 2014 he was asked to start a Competitive Power Tumbling Program. In three years the program has grown to sixty athletes, three dedicated coaches, and numerous successful State and National Team placements.
